Everyday Sexism

On this week’s episode, we talk sexism. In Everyday Sexism, Laura Bates describes the topic of her book as little pinpricks—the inappropriate contact disguised as a friendly touch, the vulgar shoutout about our body, the overly-sexualized images in advertising, and the “second shift” we are taxed with at home are all examples of the everyday sexism that women endure. Subtle as it may be, the sexism we experience is everywhere from politics to education, and in the media and the workplace. Listen as Ashley and Marcy talk about where, how, and with whom sexism shows up, and what both women and men can do to combat sexism every day.
